I was looking for a Cook book which went in to detail about his time on the Hawaiian Island of Kaua'i. It was here that the Native Hawiians learned about western man and from here that word spread about them across the islands. The author does explain that Cook's vouyages scientific expeditions with skilled crew in studying cultures, languages, resources, and habits, not just a trading ship. It was here that Cook's crews completed supplies to undertake the vouyage to North America. The book is short on the importance of the notes and diaries to other explorers including the overland venture of Lewis and Clark. The information is available In Volumne II, Chapter XI of the very difficult to read write up of the vouyages in 1793.Product details
